Phantom Edges in Phantom Blade Zero: All Classes & How They Work
Phantom Edges explained: the 25 collectible arts, five classes, Remnant Spark charges, and why they're your key to both boss damage and locked shortcuts.
What are Phantom Edges?
Phantom Edges (影之武装) are supernatural techniques Soul collects across the world — the game’s second arsenal alongside his main weapons. The official count is 25 (a few third-party databases count 26, likely due to Soul Temper transformation forms), split into five classes:
| Class | Role |
|---|---|
| Ranged | Strike at distance, pick off casters |
| Destruction | Heavy damage and guard break |
| Martial | Direct combat techniques |
| Artifice | Machines and contraptions |
| Summon | Call allied force into the fight |
You equip two at a time and trigger them with R2, with a chargeable release for stronger effects.

What do Remnant Sparks do?
Both equipped Edges draw from a shared pool of Remnant Spark (暗源) charges — each use spends one, and resting at a Bell restores them. That makes Edges a managed resource: devastating when spent deliberately, gone when spammed. Many players hold charges for boss phase transitions, where the burst damage and guard break shine.
Why are Edges also exploration tools?
Because they literally open the world. Edges are used to shoot objects, break chains, burn brambles, and grapple across gaps — a light Metroidvania layer where a new Edge picked up in one region unlocks shortcuts and caches in another. When you hit a bramble wall or a broken bridge, the answer is usually an Edge you don’t have yet; note it and move on.
